SC/ST/OBC Cell

            The SC/ST/OBC Cell looks after academic and non-academic issues and complaints of students/Faculty / Staff members from reserved categories. The college strives to maintain an environment where all communities can participate in various activities without any sort of caste discrimination. In order to maintain such an atmosphere, the SC/ST/OBC Cell is responsible for sensitizing the campus community about the importance of having diversity.

            The cell is where any complaints about discrimination and/or harassment are to be brought up. The cell strives to ensure that anonymity is maintained throughout the investigation.

Functions of the SC/ST/OBC Cell

  • Providing information about various Government schemes and policies to the students/teachers & non-teaching staff
  • To circulate Government of India and Commission’s decisions and to collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admissions to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC in the College for different courses.
  • To circulate Government of India orders and Commission’s decisions and to collect information in respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and non-teaching posts in the College.
  • Collecting reports and information regarding the Government of India orders on the various aspects of education, training and employment of SC/ST/OBC candidates, for evolving new policies or modifying existing policy by the Commission.
  • Accepting Grievances of SC/ST/OBC students and employees of the College and rendering them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
  • To maintain a register for grievances of SCs/STs/OBCs communities.
  • Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among SCs/STs/OBCs communities suffering economic, social and education deprivations.
