Department of Languages

 The department includes Marathi, Hindi & English subjects. Ours is a commerce college. So, the subjects like Hindi and Marathi are optional for the commerce students. English is the compulsory subject. Language plays a vital role in the field of Business and Commerce. A successful businessperson should be fluent in his/her communication. Reading bookish English is not only enough but practical usage of the language is important to develop one’s personality. 25 marks are given for the internals i.e. Assignments, Unit Tests, Viva-voce, Seminars, Interviews, etc. The department establishes ‘Bhasha Vangmay Mandal’ every year.

The English Department offers Spoken English Certification Course and Business English Certification Course for students in every year. The students are provided short-term training to speak English fluently. The competitions like essay writing, letter writing, debate, Poster Presentation are organized through department of Languages. The students write different articles, poems, essays, and quotations in the Annual Report of our college.

The Hindi Department celebrates ‘Hindi Divas’ on 14 September, every year. It actively contributes in the progress of national language Hindi and develops students’ interest in Hindi Language. The Marathi Department organizes ‘Marathi Language Day’ on 27^th Feb, every year to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of poet Kusumagraj. “Marathi Bhasha Pandharvada” is organized every year through the department.

Dr. Ganesh Lahane is the Vice-Principal of college as well as Head of Marathi Department. He is a post-graduate in M.A. (Marathi) from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. He has completed M.Phil & Ph.D degree under the Faculty of Humanities. He is the Research Guide. 04 Ph.D research students are working under his guidance. He is having 12 years teaching experience. He has presented 24 research papers and published 45 research papers in national/international journals. He has also published one book entitled ‘Lok Sahitya Swaroop aani Aaklan’. He is the chief Editor of “Madhup”, the college annual magazine and Incharge of Student Council of college.

Dr. Sainath Umate is Head of Hindi Department. He has completed M.A (Hindi), M.Phil & Ph.D in Hindi from Hyderabad Central University, Hyderabad and has qualified NET. He is the Research Guide. He is having 06 years teaching experience. 10 research papers and two books are published by him. He is NSS BoS member in Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. He is the Coordinator of DCAP, S.R.T.M.U, Nanded. On college level, he holds the different positions including Associate NCC Officer, Incharge of Cultural Department etc.
